Yes, the ducks are alive-- and getting the ride of their lives too! How would YOU transport your ducks?
Typical tuk-tuk driver waiting for a fare.
This old lady walks around one of the big markets selling her sticky-rice baskets. She's so bent over her back is almost parallel to the ground.
Roti-- one of our kids' favorite treats/desserts. It's a dough cooked very thin with lots of margarine, and usually an egg cooked on top, folded into a square, then drizzled with sweetened condensed milk. Sometimes chocolate, bananas, or other delicious things are added. There are street-side stands out every evening wherever the most people are to be found, near the markets, hang-out spots, schools that are getting out, popular stores, downtown, etc.
A common mess of electric wires.
Almost anywhere you go in the late afternoon or evening, you can find someone selling grilled meat in front of a house or along the street. Grab a yummy skewer... you can have your pick of pork or chicken meat-- or try chicken feet, livers, tiny fish, wing tips, toads...

Everyday life... the Market
These were taken this summer, so no, I'm not pregnant in this picture. I'm a lot bigger now. =)
Dried chilies, seasoning powders, black beans, plastic wrap, dried seaweed, sugar, sauces, rice paper/wraps, curry paste, instant noodles, margarine, chopsticks, you name it....
You might be able to see the water on the floor in this photo. It happened to start pouring while we were in the market that day...
...and by the time we left, we had to wade through almost calf-high, very gross water rushing out the back of the market! It wasn't pleasant, but it was an experience to remember! I hadn't seen anything like this before!
